Even if you’re not so great with the technical stuff, don’t be afraid to
read this post. We’re going to explain in detail what Blackhat tactics are and
why you should avoid them for your escort website. We’ve covered quite a lot
about SEO in our previous posts, but if this is your first time reading about
this or if you would like to refresh your memory on what search engine
optimization actually is, just read our post on “What is SEO?” and how it can help your business.
So far, everything we’ve recommended you do in order to improve your SEO
(e.g. writing detailed text, updating your content constantly, keeping a blog
and staying in contact with fans over social media) all refer to white-hat SEO tactics. This kind of
strategy is transparent and you can handle it yourself with little to no
technical knowledge. There are, of course, the SEO experts who can find hidden
ways to make your website rank higher, but the fact of the matter is that most
of these tactics can actually damage your website and your position on search
engines on the long run.
If you receive an email guaranteeing you SEO services for outstanding
rankings on Google, look the other way. Nobody can predict ranking. Moreover,
most backstage tactics actually backfire in the end and might even get your
website off Google’s index. Here’s a list of the kind of “blackhat” tactics, as they’re called, could be offered to you from
a SEO specialist, and why you should avoid them.
1. Buying Links. Before
2012-2013, link building was actually a very well-respected tactic. In terms of
organic rank, it was always morally questionable, however, since this strategy
would make a site blow up in rank in a matter of weeks. The point was to have
as many links to your website as possible on other sites. SEO specialists, who
had contacts with many webmasters, would have no problem procuring these links.
Link building would have normally increased your traffic by getting your
site indexed better. In theory, having so many links everywhere on the Web
meant that your site was gold. Why else would anyone link to it otherwise, you
know? Well, Google caught on to the fact that people were forcing this link
growth and turned out an update called Penguin that strips rank on account of
low quality backlinks.
Today, backlinks are great, but the general rule is to acquire them
organically. Link to your website from your social media accounts or partner up
with other escorts and agencies. The harder it is to get your links out there,
the better it is for your website.
2. Pumping Keywords. Using
the right keywords on your website is great, and we outline more about them in
this post on improving the Text on your Site in order to get more traffic. The point is to
never exaggerate with keywords. Stay relevant and keep your text legible.
Pumping keywords will actually do your website harm on the long run. Moreover,
a SEO specialist will only be able to help you get more traffic, but that
doesn’t mean that you will necessarily get more clients. For example, PSE (pornstar
experience) could be a great keyword to have, but if you don’t offer PSE, it
shouldn’t be on your website.
3. Invisible Tactics. Text
can also be pumped into your website and made to appear invisible, most of the
times by pasting it into your code. You or your clients will not be able to see
it, but search engines will. In the end, this produces the same effect as the
above tactic, so don’t trust SEO specialists who promise you the moon and stars
through something you can’t see.
Nowadays, the work you can do yourself to improve your SEO, even if
you’re not tech-inclined at all, is far more valuable than the results a
specialist can offer you. Ranking high should be the result of long-time work
if you don’t want to find yourself deindexed in a couple of week. So, take it
easy, trust yourself, and don’t be afraid to ask if you have any questions!
